. A Little About Me

My name is Jared Morphew. I’m a husband, father, United States Marine Corps veteran, pastor, and someone who has always had a deep love for the outdoors. I served on active duty in the United States Marine Corps from 2007 to 2011, including a combat deployment to Iraq in 2008. My time in the Marine Corps taught me valuable lessons about brotherhood, sacrifice, commitment, and the importance of having people beside you when life gets difficult. Since 2022, I’ve had the privilege of serving as an Associate Pastor and Youth Pastor at First Baptist Church in De Queen, Arkansas. Through pastoral ministry, I’ve been blessed with opportunities to preach the Gospel, disciple students and adults, and participate in mission work both here in the United States and overseas. Each of these experiences has helped shape who I am and how I approach ministry today. But more importantly than being a veteran, pastor, or outdoorsman, I’m a follower of Jesus Christ. That’s the foundation of everything I want Pursuit Outdoors to represent. Where My Love for the Outdoors Meets My Calling to Ministry Some of my favorite moments in life have happened outdoors. There’s something special about sitting in a deer stand before daylight, hearing a turkey gobble on a cool spring morning, or spending an afternoon fishing. The quietness, the beauty of God’s creation, and the opportunity to get away from the distractions of everyday life are things I’ve always appreciated.
